Monday October 10th in the ABC’s

What an exciting day we had today! We had a very special visit this morning from Riley’s dad and the Hopewell Fire Department! Before the fire department came we reviewed some of our fire safety tips and rules. We sang our 9-1-1 song and discussed when and how to stop, drop and roll. Firemen Josh (Riley’s dad) read us “Fire Boy” and taught us about fire safety! He children were so excited to see a real firemen dress up into his fire gear and equipment! Firemen Josh then took us outside to show us the different parts of the fire truck! Thank you so much to the Hopewell Fire Department for coming in and talking to our school, we loved it! During circle time we reviewed our calendar and introduced letter Ee. We discussed a little about Columbus Day and learned that Christopher Columbus sailed 3 ships and found America. With Miss Cara we made 3 handprint sail boats, and the children then used blue paint to draw the water. With Miss Nicole the children completed a letter E tracing worksheet. With Miss Abbie he children enjoyed playing in groups. Before lunch we had another special visitor, Miss Emily’s cousin Maura, Maura played with us outside and read us “The Berenstain Bears in the Dark”. Have a great evening!
* Don’t forget to bring in your child’s permission slip by this Friday the 14th if you have not already done so!
